Session 1 : D4SI Action Lab
DS4SI Action Lab is a space to learn about and generate cultural tactics that support organizing strategies. The Lab will kick off during the "Out the Box" sub-plenary and run throughout the rest of the conference, with open space for participants to share ideas and tactics they might try back home.

Session 2: American Democracy? It Would be a Good Idea!
There has been a low intensity war against our communities having full access to power and decisionmaking for centuries. Where are we now in the battle for democracy? What are the threats and emerging opportunities? This session will look at what’s on the horizon in a global context and examine promising changes taking place in Jackson, MS with lessons for us all.

Who’s the Real Fat Cat?
This sub-plenary will expose and explore the corporate side of food culture and choices. Panelists will present their work around fighting the "Real Fat Cats" or corporate giants in the food industry who are the primary beneficiaries of unhealthy food production and demand. Panel presentation will be followed by an interactive activity to get the audience involved in naming corporations and exploring strategies to address this side of the struggle to address the growing rates of obesity in the United States.
