Chinese Progressive Association (CPA)-San Francisco, CA
Founded in 1972, the Chinese Progressive Association educates and organizes the low income and working class immigrant Chinese community in San Francisco to build collective power with other oppressed communities to demand better living and working conditions and justice for all people.
As a Communities Creating Healthy Environments grantee, the Chinese Progressive Association is advocating for a Master Plan for Health. This Master Plan approach leverages their relationship with the local health department, local multiracial organizations and faith communities and their large base in Chinatown and south San Francisco to develop a community-based policymaking process that integrates land use, services, tax policy, transit and more into an enforceable plan policy for a comprehensive approach to healthy communities.
